La casa in collina

How is a theatrical adaptation of a great novel created? And what happens when Cesare Pavese’s words meet the voices, gestures, and bodies of the actors?

Wednesday, September 23, at 11 a.m., the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum presents La casa in collina, the new theatrical production that will premiere in the Salone d’Onore from October 14 to 18. During the presentation, director Mario Scandale and playwright Giulia Bartolini will discuss the process of adapting the novel and the work that led to the creation of the play. The discussion will be interspersed with a staged reading, offering a direct glimpse into the performers’ work and revealing how Pavese’s text takes shape on stage.

This is an opportunity to get an up-close look at the project before its October debut, continuing the research process that began during the artist residency held as part of the 48th edition of AstiTeatro.
